All cloth doll makers have a favorite stuffing and mine is Poly-fil® made by the Fairfield Company. In 2005, the Fairfield Company issued a “Through the Looking Glass Doll Challenge” to all cloth doll makers to create a doll that was to be a self-portrait of how we see ourselves. My entry was created to reflect my fantasy alter ego versus my reality. The fantasy is leisurely eating chocolates while reclining on a chaise lounge dressed in a sexy little outfit. The reality is fuzzy slippers, curlers and a box of doughnuts! “My Alter Ego” was awarded the Grand Prize.
